People who use PABA as a supplement for hair growth typically take 50 to 100 mg daily. The use of antibiotics can reduce their effectiveness. Consult a physician before taking PABA supplements to get advice on recommended dosages.

There are other ways to get PABA since it is found in foods such as wheat germ, brewer’s yeast, and liver. Other sources of PABA include molasses, eggs, and whole grains such as rice.

PABA works best as a hair loss remedy if the thinning is caused by a vitamin B deficiency.
